2013 Winter Mini Sessions

Winter in South East Michigan is unpredictable.  Some years we will have so much snow.  Other years we will have hardly any.  We had a lot of snow in the beginning of January, but by the 2nd week of January it was 50 degrees!  I was watching and watching the weather because I wanted to do snow mini sessions.  Because of the unpredictability of the weather I saw that is was supposed to snow and stay cold for a few days and offered short notice snow mini sessions.  As I am posting this we had a day over 50 degrees while it is predicted that the temperature will be in the teens again in 2 days.

I feel so grateful to be in an area that has four separate seasons like this and am exited for spring, summer, and fall mini sessions!

The "G" Family: Lifestyle

First, I will say that I LOVE lifestyle images! They are my very favorite!  I love to photograph every day craziness.  Forget about cute poses or special clothes or any of the other things that people worry about in a traditional studio session.  Especially with little kids.  They do all these cute things that are at times aggravating, but when they are grown, we think back on all of these things with fondness.

I have, on more than one occasion, put toys or sock on the floor for a photo because that is life.  This is how we live right now at this stage in our life.  For instance, my kids will inevitably fall and get a bruise or scrape on their heads whenever we have plans to take photos.  I used to stress about this and reschedule, but now I realize that this is my life right now!

This session was perfect!  There are a few shots with toys on the floor.  I love it!  These kids really live here and play here and I think that is what we SHOULD see on the floor of a house with happy healthy kids!
