Oh No....Not AGAIN!

When I walked into the bathroom and found this pile of hair on the floor I was less than pleased.  I found my little daughter and saw that she had hacked off some of her bangs up to her scalp.  There was also a big hunk chopped off the back.   I did what I could to "fix" it.  I am far from a hair stylist, but I figured I could not do much worse than she did.  I cut the back to match the part that she cut, and I trimmed her bangs, but there was not much that could be done to help.  She would not have had bangs in the first place if she had not cut her own hair this past fall.  It looks like she did not learn her lesson the first time.  Unless the lesson is "Cut my own hair and I get a haircut."  She did look pretty cute afterward when she was walking around flinging her hair around.  I guess cutting off over 12 inches of hair makes that a lot more fun.

Natalie's long hair on the first day of school, 7 months ago.

You can't see very well here, but the front is about 1/2 inch from the scalp.

See....I told you I was not a hair stylist.

After cutting more than 12 inches off her hair she could not help but fling it around.

Welcome Little Trevor!

Congratulations are in order for my sister and brother-in-law.  Today their little boy was born!  I just love him so much already.

Max, The Proud Peacock

Max, our peacock has been showing off his lovely tail feathers this spring.  He has 2 female friends here also, but they are not interested much in being photographed.  Max on the other hand is used to it.  Today, for instance, he was roosting in a tree in our front yard when a person pulled into the driveway.  All they wanted was to take a picture of him with their camera phone.  We have many many other birds including geese, ducks, chickens, quail, and guineas.  Only 3 peafowl though.  That is enough.  They are really not good for much other than to look at.  The hens lay very few eggs.  When Max molts though we pick up the feathers that are all over the yard.  Then I can use them as photo props, and sometimes kids who come over to play find the feathers in the yard and are so excited to bring them home with them.

Four Little Cuties

What a great time I had getting to know these 4 great children.  I had been talking with their mom about where we would do the session and threw out a few ideas including their own home.  I am always excited when I get to actually go to a clients home and see all the great portrait backgrounds.  I get there and see all this greatness and inspiration all around.  This was no exception.  There are so many more images not shown here and I did not even come close to running out of ideas.  I can not wait to show them the proofs.

Little sweetie was not near as excited to get her picture taken as I was to take it.  She came around though.
