Our family and the guides got into the taxi and drove to the orphanage where John lived. It was like this huge house ware all these babies and older kids lived. As I walked up the stairs I could hear laughing, crying, loud noises, screaming. I got to the top of the stairs and looked around the corner and saw 5 or 6 year olds who couldn't walk, a little 5 year old girl with braces on her legs. It was a sad feeling for me. I just wanted to go and help and talk to these kids, I tried to in my heart. John Michael's room had about 25 babies all in cribs. The babies were just sitting there or crying, some had smiles some didn't. All the babies looked like they didn't get enough to eat, they all looked liked skinny chickens! I walked over to the sea of cribs and smiled at the babies they smiled back. I laughed, they laughed, I smiled, they smiled I tickled them, they giggled. :- )
It was time to go back to the hotel. I looked back one last time at the kids that Matt and I had just played with. Giggled with, smiled at and laughed with. I could see it on their faces the words saying, "Take me with you, come back, keep playing with me." It is hard for me to know that I am now back in Ashville and I still think about how those babies are all in the sea of cribs. I will always remember them.
John is doing great!
Our whole family at last together!

A little baby in the crib at John's orphanage.

Here are some pictures from our trip to Vietnam. Some of these pictures are probably the most valuable pictures of all. This is the "first time" we met John Michael. Our Guides, Kim and Elle took us to JM's orphanage.
Here are some first time pictures!

Matt and Sam were throwing John up in the air, spinning him around, making him laugh.

Here are some ladies who helped take care of John Michael. (Also, who work at the orphanage)

Bad picture. First time mom getting to meet John Michael.

The 2 ladies on the left are the people who run the orphanage.
