A GIFT Of Suffering

How many of you have heard of Ami Ortiz who was half blown up by a bomb?  Ami is 15 years old and is the 3rd oldest son of pastor David Ortiz in the West Bank settlement of Ariel. He was born in Israeli. His parents came from America and have been citizens for 23 years. They are Jewish Christians, that means they could be in danger at times.

On March 20, during the Jewish holiday Purim, someone, (they think it could  have been a terrorist) left a  Purim gift basket on the door step of the Ortiz's house. Written in Hebrew, on the basket it said these words, "Happy Purim."

"I opened it up and I heard it and then I was on the floor and I didn't hear anything, I didn't see anything. Then I knew it was a bomb!" says Ami. The bomb was so great it broke 12 widows in the Ortiz's apartment. Ami was badly hurt and underwent 7 1/2 hours of surgery. He still has sharpnel is his body. Doctors call it  "A MIRACLE" that he survived. Ami is still alive.

"We rejoice everyday to see our son alive," says his parents. Israeli police say the bomb was placed not by a anti-Israel Palestinians, but by anti-Christian Israelis. It was an attack against Christ and his followers. The doctors had to sew his right foot back on. Ami has no feeling in his right or left arms.

Please pray for Ami and his Family.

In Christ,
Sarah Jane
